Enjoy a haven of peace !
The abbey is an open-air site. In a setting of beautiful stone and nature, the charm of this "romantic ruin" surrounded by walled parkland really comes into its own. Climb up the tower, the lighthouse of the Entre-deux-Mers region, to appreciate the quality of this site and the surrounding countryside, with its valleys, vineyards and forest, whatever the season.

The abbey of La Sauve-Majeure takes its name from this environment. In Latin, silva major refers to the large forest cleared in the Middle Ages. Let nature guide you, take a walk through the woods - and the vineyards, and the villages... But above all, take the time to enter the abbey, because it's inside that the essential is hidden! Share its secrets in moderation (before enjoying a glass of Entre-deux-Mers wine in the old abbey barn!).

Accessible all year round, the abbey grounds stretch around the church and the remains of the cloister. La Sauve-Majeure is (almost) paradise, with its avenue and terrace of hundred-year-old plane trees, a meadow of varied plant species and fruit trees.
Not forgetting the medieval garden, with its decorative, medicinal and edible plants, maintained by the Friends of the Abbey at the entrance to the site. Try the adventure, push open the door of the abbey.
